Information we collect

Information you provide

• Your email address and a password (stored encrypted) when you create an account, or account details received from Google if you choose to sign in with Google.
• The username you choose, which becomes your store's public link.
• Photos of items you upload for listing.
• Store and sale details — store name, description, currency, language, WhatsApp number, pickup-location link, and sale area/country.
• Item names, descriptions, prices, categories, and condition that you write or edit.

Information collected automatically

• Your IP address and browser/device type, as part of standard server logs and to prevent abuse.

AI image analysis (Google Gemini)

When you upload a photo and request identification or pricing, it is sent to Google Gemini — a third-party AI service — to automatically generate an item name, description, category, and price estimate. Images are transmitted securely over HTTPS. Google may process and retain data in accordance with its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

AI-generated descriptions and estimates are approximations only. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and correcting the content before publishing your listing.

How we use your information

• To create, display, and maintain your sale page at your personal link.
• To identify and log you into your account.
• To prevent abuse.
• To improve and develop the Service.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data retention and security

So that your store stays available at the link you share, we persistently store your account details (email and encrypted password), your store settings, your products, and the images you upload. This data is kept in Netlify's storage service (Netlify Blobs) and remains available until you delete it — either by removing individual items or by requesting account deletion (see "Your rights").

We apply reasonable security measures, including: HTTPS encryption for all transmitted data; storing passwords only as a hash — never in plain text; and secure server-side handling of API keys, so third-party service keys are never exposed to your device.

Children's privacy

Yard-Sale.ai is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

• To access the personal information we hold about you.
• To request deletion of your information or account.
• To object to or restrict certain types of processing.
